My First Sketch Challenge

I was tidying my desk and found some flowers that I had coloured a while ago using the new Stampin Up Blendabilities Markers.  I just could not decide how they would fit on a card.  I found a few sketches on line and as soon as I saw the one on the Freshly Made Sketches blog I knew that it would be perfect for my flowers.  I ended up making three cards in a very short time.

Masculine Birthday Card

I always struggle with male cards but it was step son's birthday a few weeks ago and I had to come up with a card.  It took a couple of days of pushing bits of cardstock around but I was thrilled with the end result.  Can you believe it took two days to make one card!!!!!!!

I wanted to use the Dictionary background stamp but I didn't have it so I had to improvise with the stamp from the Open Sea and my stamp-a-ma-jig.

I hope everyone in the southern hempisphere is keeping warm as it has been pretty frosty around our place for the last week.  Even the water troughs are freezing over.  Here is Bandit and Schiska sitting outside in the frost.  They weren't out there long and I soon found them warming themselves in the front of the fire.

This is Schiska's "I am not impressed" face.  She doesn't like the cold.

Vintage Birthday Card

One of the ladies from card class asked for a vintage card.  This is what I came up with. I love the combination of Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla and one other colour.

To get the different colour shades I stamped off the stamp so that I had dark and light shades of the same colour.  I layered the flowers with dimensionals.

I also used the masking technique.  I roughly tore around the edges of a post it note and then placed it in the centre of the Very Vanilla card stock before stamping with the Hardwood stamp.

I sponged around the edges of the cardstock layers and also lightly over the doily so that it would blend in. I distressed the edges of the Rose Red cardstock and tore the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I rolled the edge of the doily and where I tore the cardstock to give it a more distressed look.

Cute Box

I cased this cute little box, but I didn't write down her blog details.  If you recognize this as yours then please contact me so that I can give you credit.

I did modify the measurements as they were in cm and I usually work in inches.  I also made the box a little longer so that it would fit a flakie chocolate bar.

Colouring In

I am sure that I was deprived as a child and that my mom didn't buy me colouring in books and crayons.  I just love the new Stampin Up Blendabilities Markers and I could just spend ages colouring in.  When I saw the new Perfect Peacock stamp in the new catalogue I just had to get it.

Here is my attempt using the blendabilities markets.  I stamped the peacock twice and coloured in one and cut it out.  I then stuck it over the other stamped image using dimensationals.

I have been having so much fun with my little granddaughter.  Here she is on the tractor with her Granddad who she calls Nano.  She is just learning to talk and picking up words really quickly.

She is totally obsessed with cows and was in her element when she had a sleep over at our house and we took her down to feed the cows.  Here she is helping feed the cows with her Uncle Ono. She even got to touch a cow and was beside herself with excitement.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day.
